Application Guide for
High-Tech Industrial Tapes

High performance tapes are designed to operate in demanding temperature and chemical environments, making them ideally suited for a wide variety of industries, with backing materials ranging from polyimides to PTFE® to UHMW. These substrates are available with an acrylic adhesive (350°F) or a high temperature silicone (500°F).

Provides the best Class 180 insulation available. Typical applications include wrapping and splicing of wire and cables, and as a mask for wave soldering of printed circuit boards. Superior dielectric strength; excellent tear and abrasion resistance.
The combination of low elongation, high tensile strength and excellent dielectric strength makes High Modulus PTFE an excellent insulation tape. When used as a roller wrapping tape, it prevents polyethylene buildup on laminating rollers. Meets Specs: MIL-1-23594C, Type I or II, Various Classes.
Higher elongation with greater conformability than High Modulus PTFE. Good strength, abrasion resistance and the low friction properties of Skived PTFE make it a prime choice for mechanical applications, from lining guide rails to wrapping airframe wire harnesses.
Optically clear FEP has many properties of PTFE, but is limited to applications with temperatures under 400F. FEP is the high performance tape to use when optical clarity is required.
PTFE coated fiberglass tapes are designed to operate in demanding temperatures and chemical environments. The unique properties of PTFE® are joined with the exceptional strength and dura-bility of glass fabric making it ideally suited for a variety of industries including packaging, aero-space and electronics.
PTFE coated glass which possesses conductive properties. It can be grounded to eliminate static electricity.
The ideal product for the plasma spray industry. Manufactured from a flame retardant silicone rubber/glass cloth fabric and coated with a high temperature adhesive. Silicone/Glass can withstand extreme temperatures while remaining abrasion resistant and conformable.
Glass fabric is the perfect combination of versatility, high temperature performance and economy when the physical and chemical properties of PTFE and silicone are not required. Ideal for a number of electrical and mechanical applications.
More abrasion resistant than PTFE with excellent properties. Resists puncture and gouging under pressure and load. The ideal choice to prolong the life of conveyor belts and to protect chute guide rails and bearings. UHMW/Polyolefin is FDA approved and suitable for temperatures up to 225F.
Aluminum and copper foil tapes are available in a variety of thicknesses, coated with either an acrylic or silicone adhesive. Several products are available with embossed substrates for applications where EMI/RFI shielding is required.
